Isla Mujeres is considered the preferred Caribbean destination fro backpackers exploring Mexico and those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the more commercial Cancun.
There are four reefs, La Bandera, Cuevones, Los Manchones and Chital, just off the coast of the island making it also preferred stop for divers.
Isla Mujeres Hotels range from upscale resorts to locally owned small hotels. They are scattered around the small island and tend to be less expansive than those in nearby Cancun.
