Trendy, contemporary styling is not something one often associates with the tradition-oriented South, which is what makes the upscale downtown Talbot Heirs Guesthouse Bed and Breakfast so unique.
Each of the rooms is boldly decorated in a wide variety of styles. One room is done in bright solid colors (yellow walls and a fire-engine-red tool chest for a bedside stand), while another is done in rich, subtle colors and has a neo-Victorian daybed. Most rooms have interesting modern lamps, and many have cilium rugs. The rooms vary in size from large to huge, all have kitchens.
The Talbot Heirs Guesthouse is a full service, albeit small, hotel. Each guest suite includes a sleeping area, a separate living area, a full kitchen, two phone lines (modem ready), direct satellite TV, complimentary beverages, fresh fruit and breakfast foods like muffins, scones, or biscotti.
In addition, Memphis Talbot can provide a treadmill, stairstepper, fax machine, internet access, and VCR in the room at no extra charge.
The Talbot Guesthouse offer a degree of personal service that no other property in Memphis can provide. For example, a personal chef can prepare meals for clients in their rooms; guests can fax a grocery list and have their refrigerator stocked for them upon their arrival. Talbot staff has arranged cocktail parties, press conferences, courier pick-up and deliveries, and limo service.
