The Ice Hotel Quebec is truly unique. Crafted annually over a period of five weeks out of 11,000 tons of snow and 350 tons of ice, it is located just a 30-minute drive west of Quebec City.
The hotel's 4-foot-thick walls act as excellent windbreakers, ensuring that the hotel maintains a consistent internal temperature of between 23F degrees and 28F degrees. Very cold, but still much warmer than the temperature outside.
The icy ceilings reach heights of up to 18 feet, the walls are covered with original artwork, and all the furniture is carved from ice. Adjacent to the Ice Hotel is a heated men's and women's dressing areas and bathrooms. Each dressing room is one large, enclosed area and there are approximately 2 to 3 stalls and sinks per bathroom.
An Absolut ice bar, a nightclub with vaulted ice ceilings and a disco ball, and even an on-site cinema and wedding chapel add to the wonder of this extraordinary experience.
The hotel recommends a maximum one-night stay.
