The Don CeSar Beach Resort and Spa has a magnificent location. This beach front resort is located on the island of St. Pete Beach, on the Gulf of Mexico.
This historic pink castle on Florida's Gulf Coast was built in 1928 and named for the Don Ce-Sar in Vincent Wallace's light opera Maritana. The ten-story hotel features Mediterranean and Moorish architecture and includes numerous original balconies and terraces.
With its lofty ceilings, rich furnishings and marble fountains, developer Thomas Rowe spared no expense in building his dream hotel, which came in at nearly 300 percent over budget. Known as the Don, this landmark property has served as a New York Yankee spring training base, hospital and Veterans Administration office. It reopened as a luxury resort in 1973 and was completely renovated in 2000.
The Don CeSar resort features 277 newly renovated guest rooms including 2 penthouses and 50 suites.
