Cody, WY, was established in 1895 and named after its endorser, William F. Cody, also-known-as 'Buffalo Bill'.
Located among northwest Wyoming's many scenic attractions and outdoor recreation opportunities, Cody is 53 miles east of Yellowstone National Park is and only minutes from Blue Ribbon trout streams and lakes.
The main attraction in Cody is the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Nicknamed 'the Smithsonian of the West', the center is home to five museums: the Buffalo Bill Museum, the Whitney Gallery of Western Art, the Cody Firearms Museum, the Plains Indian Museum and the Draper Museum of Natural History.
The Buffalo Bill Historical Center holds a huge collection of photographs, guns, memorabilia, western art and Native American culture artifacts and is considered a 'must-visit' for travelers passing through Cody on their way to Yellowstone.
Hotels in Cody are mainly located along Highway 14 that runs east to west through town. All Cody hotels are within 5 miles from downtown, all Buffalo Bill attractions and the Yellowstone Regional Airport.
